Safety Since 1995, over 4 million bio-implants processed using Allowash Technology have been distributed by LifeNet Health, with no disease transmission. By using a network of qualified and trained recovery partners, one of the most stringent screening and recovery protocols, patented tissue cleaning and sterilization processes, and a highly controlled processing environment, they counter the risks of disease transmission at every step.
The Principal Scientist will develop, manage, research and product development with focus on process development strategies, process assessments, improvements and optimization to honor the gift of donation by increasing product yield, reduce waste and optimize production-associated resources (e.g. reagents, hands-on time, personnel). The Principal Scientist will also design and implement new concepts for the production of LifeNet Health’s existing line of osteobiologic products under particular consideration of its material and cell-associated properties with respect to their clinical efficacies and outcomes. The successful candidate will pursue the identification and generation of new processing methods and intellectual property in support of the divisional project portfolio. The successful candidate will also write, submit, and present results of research initiatives both internally and externally.
• Develop and test novel processing approaches for the production of current and novel osteobiologic therapies under consideration of material-based and cell-focused research in vitro and in vivo from inception to early prototyping. • Develop and test novel in vitro test formats for the evaluation and quality assessment of existing products and new prototypes under engineering principles. • Provide scientific support for technical staff, including guidance and project review. • Lead multifunctional teams to plan and execute projects according to goals, budgets, and timelines to achieve corporate objectives. • Make major contribution in the development of intellectual property in support of the divisional project portfolio. • Evaluate the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of biomedical equipment in accordance with LifeNet Health and industry regulatory standards • Accumulate, interpret, and report data in verbal and written forms (i.e. experimental design, engineering study, technical report, and white paper documentations and scientific presentations). • Generate documents, including scientific journal articles, technical reports and regulatory submissions. • Become knowledgeable of and assesses external technology for in-house application, potential licensing, or partner opportunities.
• PhD degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Engineering, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or Biotechnology from an accredited college or university with a demonstrated focus on production of osteobiologic therapies. • Minimum of 8 years hands-on experience in engineering or biomedical devices. • Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of research design, execution, presentation and teamwork. • Understanding and working knowledge of LEAN principles. • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications. • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
