This position supports the technology licensing activities within Medical Device/Health Information Technology licensing team. The analyst supports the commercialization efforts of licensing associates and manages a portfolio of technologies of mixed focus containing both patented and non-patented intellectual property (IP) assets. The Technology Analyst will learn and be involved in the various components of technology licensing from invention evaluation to sourcing, negotiating, execution and compliance of license deals. This position reports to a Portfolio Director or Associate Director.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Evaluates inventions and copyrighted material disclosed to JHTV for intellectual property protection and commercialization potential.
Supports the Director and Associates in their duties by developing and conducting marketing campaigns.
Supports fellow team members in the negotiation, processing and execution of license and option agreements and helps in compliance monitoring of executed agreements.
With experience, assumes independent activities in all of the above.
Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory):
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
Experience with patents, trademarks and copyrights is required.
Education or work experience in scientific publishing, biomedical or physical sciences, or engineering is useful towards this multifaceted role.
Working knowledge of state, federal, and international laws regarding technology transfer/intellectual asset management and intellectual property is preferred.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience in academic technology transfer is preferred.
A science or engineering background to understand complex technologies is very helpful.
Must be able work well as a team member with other JHTV staff.
Must be very detail oriented and highly organized.
Ability to multi-task under deadline pressure.

Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
