Minimum requirements: Completion of an ACGME-approved Emergency Medicine residency; ABEM certified or eligible; meet requirements for and obtain Rhode Island Medical Licensure and clinical privileges in Emergency Medicine at Rhode Island Hospital/Hasbro Children's Hospital, Newport and The Miriam Hospital. Assistant Professor Position requirements: Previous academic & scholarly work and productivity in emergency medicine Associate Professor Position requirements: Previous record of scholarly activity in emergency medicine research and/or education in a focused area with extramural support, publications, and presentation of this work. Assistant Professor Preferred requirements: Defined research area of focus with previous publication and grant funding, or defined area of expertise and productivity in graduate or undergraduate emergency medicine education; Preferred area of research interest in one of the following areas: cardiovascular emergencies, trauma, neurological emergencies, sepsis and shock, emergency ultrasound, medical simulation, medical devices, toxicology, education research, health policy and translational research. Fellowship training or advanced degree in area of expertise. Associate Professor Preferred requirements: Advanced degree or fellowship training in an area of expertise; Ability to create and lead an independently funded unit in the area of research or education; Leadership in organizations in emergency medicine and/or in the area of focus in research or education; Research/scholarly interest and experience in one of the following areas: cardiovascular emergencies, trauma, sepsis and shock, injury prevention, toxicology, emergency ultrasound, neurological emergencies, medical simulation, medical devices and translational research, women's health, ED quality and cost-effectiveness research, educational research.
