Position Summary: The Technical Specialist oversees technical operations in the clinical lab, including administrative and technical support of laboratory operations, problem resolution, technical development and procedure implementation, purchasing, etc. Supervises collection of patient specimens, accessioning, and preparation of specimens for analysis. Performs analytical procedures when required. Responsible for Quality Assurance functions, including data collection, analysis and reporting. Assumes operational responsibility during Manager's absence. Qualifications: - Bachelor Degree in Medical Technology;
- or Bachelor Degree in a physical, chemical or biological science, and five years' experience/training as a MedicalTechnologist;
- or, 90 semester hours of science and completion of an AHCA approved training program.
- Five years of experience as a Medical Technologist is required, of which one-year in a lead or supervisory position is preferred.
- SBB certification or experience in a reference laboratory or transfusion service performing complex and specialized serological tests preferred.
