Summary

Assists nursing service personnel with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients.
Assists with personal hygiene, takes vital signs and changes bed linens.
May serve and collect food trays, provide for between-meal nourishment, and clean, sterilize, store and prepare other supplies.
Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

Responsibilities

• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
• Works under immediate supervision.
• Typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited Nurse Aide, Medical Assistant or intermediate or higher level Emergency Medical Technician program.
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Satisfactory completed a nurse aide course, EMT, Paramedic, Medical Assisting
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 2 years of clinical experience (Inpatient, Emergency Department, or Skilled Nursing Unit)
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: EMT, CNA or MA certification
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:
REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): BLS �Obtained through approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network.Non-Violent Crisis Intervention obtained with 60 days of hire or transfer to position.
