The Program Analyst will work with the Catalyst Program and InVent Fund teams at Innovation Ventures at UCSF in supporting faculty in advancing projects along the translational pathway to commercialization and patent benefit in the product development areas of: therapeutics, medical devices, diagnostics, digital health and biotools. Get exposed and involved with cutting edge translational science projects at UCSF and help them move along the translational pathway to licensing or formation of a venture-backed startup company. Have the opportunity to participate in discussions and learn from experienced industry advisors about critical considerations for project translation to successful products and companies.
The successful candidate will help to identify and perform due diligence on UCSF's most promising product commercialization and business development opportunities that merit internal investment to proof of concept demonstration; will utilize various platforms of data to conduct financial analyses (i.e., TAM, SOM, SAM), conduct competitive landscape analysis; identify risks and strategic advantages; create succinct and concise business case models; collaborate with Innovation Ventures team members in conducting due diligence for projects that are being considered for internal investment, and also manage some of the communication with stakeholders and members of the core teams.
The successful candidate would also be involved in developing presentations and pitch decks to pitch funded projects to Venture Capitalists, participate and support senior team members in the Project Management of the awarded projects, track applications and preparing documents for review by the steering committee and funding committee, and participate in planning for symposium related to the translational advancement of UCSF discoveries and inventions (e.g. a Rare Disease Symposium), contribute to the program's newsletters and websites and professional social media channels (e.g. Twitter and LinkedIn).
