What You Will Do:
As a Principal Engineer, you will be leading an electrical/hardware/mechanical engineering advanced manufacturing team to develop electromechanical processes on ground-breaking medical imaging products. You will work with a highly motivated and focused team to launch an entirely new modality of endoscopy products.
Will analyze assembly issues and identify, test, and implement the most effective solutions promptly by using lean and six sigma manufacturing principles.
Will strive to increase efficiency and productivity of the manufacturing line based on OEE.
Will aid in the new product development process by identifying effective and efficient assembly techniques and manufacturing processes using six sigma methodologies on PCBA processes.
Lead the development of standard operating procedures for the medical manufacturing process (MAP, QIP, DHR)
Will lead manufacturing documentation and process validation are complete, accurate and within good manufacturing practices (GMP) and Stryker design review (DR) compliance.
Will analyze variables within the unit (e.g. rework, scrap, warranty return, etc.) and address recurring issues as appropriate by using the corrective and preventive action plan (CAPA) process.
Will assist vendors in resolving manufacturing and quality issues via PPAP and PFMEA.
Will develop positive relationships with vendors and communicate needs for the business from a technical perspective using DF(x) techniques.
Will lead the design, build and/or purchase fixtures, equipment, and tools as needed to ensure quality products at minimal costs and with ROI studies.
Will lead the development systems to keep reports and documentation updated and accurate (MAPs, MTRs, and fixture database).
Will visit customer sites to troubleshoot product problems during the new product introduction (NPI) process.
Will train others on manufacturing engineering design for manufacturing (DFM) processes and strategies.
Lead the development of new advanced manufacturing technology from discovery through product technology demonstration.
What You Will Need:
B.S. in engineering (electrical, software, computer).
8+ years' experience in the medical or automotive industry.
Commitment to excellence and high standards in advanced manufacturing.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills on electromechanical box-build-assemblies.
Understanding of statistical techniques applied to manufacture (Gauge R&R, Cp, and Cpk).
Demonstrated mechanical/electrical/pneumatic problem-solving skills related to electromechanical automated fixture development.
M.S. in engineering (electrical, software, computer).
Experience in developing electromechanical equipment and fixtures.
Knowledge of SMT and PTH on PCBA manufacturing.
Strong leadership talent.
Project management experience related to new product introduction (NPI)
Proficient in computer programs including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, LabView, C++.
Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and data management related to MRP and MRPII.
Must be able to generate, follow and explain detailed instructions and inspection procedures as he/she develops NPI tools and processes.
Must be able to complete detailed documentation during equipment qualification (IQ, OQ, PQ) and validation procedures.
