As a Senior Scientist/Engineer Biocompatibility (m/f/d) you will be a Subject Matter Expert in a senior role with ultimate authority to determine biological safety for T&E products. You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Regulatory Affairs as well as external regulatory bodies to drive state of the art in T&E products and processes.
Your key responsibilities
In your new role you are responsible for the biological safety testing and assessment of new medical devices, processes and materials.
You develop protocols, reports, and regulatory summaries in collaboration with cross-functional teams, laboratories and suppliers.
You manage external test labs and ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements and standards related to biological safety such as ISO 10993.
You are also entrusted with defining testing strategies for materials, design and process that satisfy cost and technical requirements as well analyzing biocompatibility testing results (extractable and leachable, chemical characterization and biological evaluations).
Furthermore, you author regulatory submissions and response to evaluations.

What are we looking for?
You have successfully completed a Bachelor or Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology or any related scientific degree.
You have 2+ years of relevant professional experience with biocompatibility assessments of materials, design or processes for medical devices.
Furthermore, you have a fundamental understanding of the ISO 10993.
Ideally, you already have technical leadership experience in a cross-functional organizational setting.
You are able to critically review detailed scientific information, communicate technical information in simpler terms and provide risk assessment.
Your profile is completed by excellent communication skills: Fluency in English is mandatory. Fluency in German is strongly preferred.
