We are currently looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to be responsible for a wide variety of engineering work in support of current production medical devices including design changes, process/quality improvements and compliance issues. You will also support and conduct root cause analysis, verification and validation testing, manufacturing transfer activities and component obsolescence management for existing products.
What You Will Do
You will work closely with manufacturing and other cross functional partners to support day to day manufacturing including but not limited to line down issues, service parts, manufacturing transfers & supplier-initiated change requests (SICRs)
You will supports quality and service teams for analysis of customer complaints related to product failures & provide solutions to resolve the same. You may need to travel to customers, as needed, to better understand and solve ongoing field issues.
You will work on engineering change orders (ECOs) and own the design change from root cause analysis to implementation which involves working with cross functional team members to understand the problem, propose solutions, prototype design, arrange parts/samples by working directly with suppliers, plan and conduct testing, arrange team collaboration meetings, present to change approval board for design approval and implementation
You may need to own Non-Conformances (NC) and design Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPAs) plans & present the same to divisional and GQO quality board meetings on regular basis
You may need to support New Product Development teams for design on new products.
You will design and develop electrical components and sub-systems for medical devices.
You will apply advanced circuit and electrical system test methods.
Through the design process, you may design circuits including, but not limited to Schematic Capture, Layout and Failure Mode Analysis for PCBA's, Cables and other electromechanical components.
You will analyze and test for electromagnetic compliance (EMI/EMC), reliability, safety, cost and design for manufacturing / assembly / test.
You will work with electrical tools like DMM, Oscilloscope & product specific test fixtures
Med Device Compliance:
You will follow fundamental industry standards, design requirements and test strategies which apply to regulatory requirements.
You will independently create or refine engineering documentation, such as the Design History file.
You will follow R&D procedures like design controls and risk management, per Stryker's Quality Management System.
You will work cooperatively with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing and Project Management to ensure project success as a key member of the team, collaborating with others and solidifying relationships.
You will process and assimilate procedures, policies, processes, systems, and technology required.
You will demonstrate ownership and prioritize work with minimal supervision.
You will build relationships and influence among peers.
