What you will do
A software design engineering position in the R&D department with primary responsibilities to maintain embedded software for an existing medical product used in surgeries. The engineer works closely with peers in software engineering, software quality assurance and project and product management to develop software that meets customer and system requirements. Following defined design practices and the use of sound software engineering principles, the engineer ensures that the software products are safe, robust and user friendly.
1.1 Roles and Responsibilities
Responsible for developing application on an embedded microcontroller using C/C++ programming language.
Updating complex software components and subsystems in a released product
Requirements, design documentation, implementation, planning and conducting testing.
Responsible for testing the code developed (includes unit test, integration test, issue resolution, verification, and validation...). This includes writing test cases and development of test scripts.
Participate in software planning and estimating activities at macro level.
Responsible for delivering his work in defined timelines while achieving product quality goals
Follows the company's standards for code development and quality process and complies with quality management system procedures.
Identifies root causes of issues, determines potential solutions, and evaluates them against requirements
What you need
Programming Language - C
Build tools - GNU Make
32 bit Microcontrollers - STM32 or similar
Communication protocols - UART, I2C, SPI etc
Software Version Control - Git
Documentation - Microsoft Word and Excel
Project Tracking - JIRA etc
Hands on with lab equipment's like MSO, Multimeter, logic analyzer.
Experience in development tools chains.
Basic electronics debugging and troubleshooting skills.
Good knowledge of verification methodologies; Use of software developments tools, such as compilers, interpreters, programming editors, debuggers, source code control, defect management.
Good exposure in Test Processes and Software Testing methodologies.
Demonstrated communication and documentation skills.
Must be able and flexible to work well under changing priorities in a high energy and demanding environment.
Goal oriented and ability to work with cross functional teams.
Knowledge of C++ design patterns, Algorithms and data structures.
Digital signal processing - Feedback signal noise filtering
Controls - Rules based and PID controller design
PWM control - Sinusoidal waveform generation
Development OS - Ubuntu
Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory standards and quality processes.
The successful applicant should have an excellent software engineering background, good attention to detail, be self-motivated and effective in a team environment under a high workload with multiple responsibilities
Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering, Software engineering or Masters in related discipline.
Experience: 7-12 years
Embedded SW development on microcontrollers
Good Communication skills: Effective interpersonal communications skills.
