What You Will Do

Join us as a Systems Engineer and help us advance neurosurgery. You will play a critical and influential part in an ambitious cross divisional, multi-phase program integrating smart surgical tools, diagnostic, therapeutic and data analysis platforms into an intelligent neurosurgical ecosystem. You will work closely with technical and business leads from multiple business units representing a diverse and robust array of surgical instrumentation, such as imaging, visualization, navigation, robotics, powered resection devices and advanced energy platforms, including RF electrocautery and ultrasonic systems. You will use your knowledge in the software, electrical, computer systems and mechanical components of these platforms and your ability to develop connecting interfaces to bring them together into a seamless intelligent network. Most importantly, you will have the opportunity to partner closely with globally renowned surgeons, multi-disciplined operating room clinical professionals and our world class marketing team as we collectively advance neurosurgery and transform the lives of patients.
You will play a role in all aspects of a product lifecycle from Concept through Market Release and Sustaining Engineering. During the Concept Phase, you will work to understand stakeholder needs and clinical use cases. You will translate those needs to concepts and new inventions. During Development, Systems Engineers are responsible for ensuring the design meets the user needs through requirements analysis, development and management.
You will achieve results using a variety of system engineering techniques such as: functional analysis, architecture design, requirements management and traceability, modeling, trade studies, simulation, and budgeting. Systems Engineers are also responsible for ensuring the systems are properly integrated and help direct Verification and Validation efforts.
You will have general Sales and Marketing knowledge
You will understand Clinical and Procedural Needs
You will represent the voice of the customer and partner with our customers, including both internal and external key opinion leaders, to develop technical strategies that meet clinical needs
You will be operating in a Regulated Environment and expected to be an expert in standards and regulations that affect the business such as Design Control. You will also be an expert in full development lifecycle from concept to product release
You will provide accurate documentation and communicate clearly, verbally and in writing

What You Need
Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering field (Biomedical, Software, Electrical, or Mechanical preferred)
6+ years of experience in any of the following areas: software, electrical, or mechanical engineering (preferably in the medical device industry), or systems engineering in a regulated industry, or project management in a regulated industry
Experience in a variety of projects and skills
A natural ability to communicate
A natural ability to build interpersonal relationships with teams based on trust
A natural ability to influence peers with strong levels of command and courage
Knowledge of ISO 13485 and ISO 14971
INCOSE CSEP certified, or equivalent
