The Product Engineering department of Stryker's Instruments division is seeking a Senior design Engineer - Electrical.

What you will do:
Design Engineering Responsibilities:
Design and develop electrical components and sub-systems for medical devices.
Apply advanced circuit and electrical system test methods.
Conduct or design prototyping and bench testing.
Conduct problem solving, identify potential solutions, evaluate them against component and sub-system requirements and independently make design tradeoff decisions while designing multiple components of the system.
Component Engineering Responsibilities:
Proactive obsolescence monitoring of all electrical components via PCNs and utilize industry standard tools (e.g. silicon expert) to identify end of life cycle components and Create periodic BOM scrub report and share the report across different stakeholders.
Identify alternative components by performing parametric comparison with existing component and work closely with experienced technical staff to ensure the appropriateness of replacement components.
Implement component changes by adhering the change control process.
Develop and maintain a database for all critical components to the Instruments' division. Provide recommendations for future critical component selection.
Provides component engineering support for new product development projects by reviewing proposed BOMs, suggest alternate components as appropriate and assess supply risk.
Identify and lead the creation of or improvements to procedures, policies, processes, systems, and technology required.
What you will need :
Strong knowledge of Electronics and Electrical Basics and Component working principle.
Knowledge of PCB/PCBA design, Design for Manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and testing.
Familiar with IPC standard and ability to differentiate and determine best practices between IPC and manufacturer recommendations.
Proficient in understanding different component parameters and their technical significance utilizing technical datasheets and specifications ·
Knowledge in PCB layout design with ability to run electrical simulations to propose right alternates ·
Experience working in a regulated industry required.
Preferred Skills / Engineering tools:
Experience in schematic capture and layout environments such as Orcad and mentor graphics is required.
Knowledge of BOM Scrubbing in tools like Silicon Expert or any other.
