Our location in Lake County, IL currently has an exciting opportunity for a Sr Manager-Software Engineering.
As a Senior Manager in IT Organization Management, you'll take a macro view of technology and innovation across the firm to develop solutions that have an everyday impact on customers, clients and businesses around the globe. As a leader of organizational, operational and technological change, you'll build partnerships with business groups and technology teams across Abbott You'll also help manage a high-performing team technologists from multiple job families who share your passion for technology and innovation. This role will lead a matrixed or directly aligned organization and partner with Product Owners to deliver of industry leading Small Business Lending products.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Core Job Responsibilities:
Develop and manage team responsible for multiple pillars of product lifecycle with Software Development, Continuous Deployment and Continuous Monitoring.
Must be able to support with hands-on engineering deliverables if needed
Lead the DevOps lifecycle for process, design and implementation
Define the Engineering roadmap in collaboration with leadership and team
Ensure automated monitoring of the ecosystem is in place, with real time dashboards
Establish common and efficient processes to assist with design and implementation of complex products
Collaborate closely with architects, product teams, cybersecurity teams to drive development of simplified, sustainable and secure applications
Accountable for conducting proof of concepts of new technology capabilities
Ensure adherence with quality and regulatory requirements applicable for specific applications
Ensure products and services are aligned with current and future needs and expectations
Lead optimizations in release engineering process
Lead and build technologies to support complex problems
Define and collaborate with other team leads to develop exceptional talent
Creatively and strategically supports key business objectives
Guides design and delivery through influence and education
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other team members
Must possess sound knowledge of various tools and technologies used
Models organizational and industry standards for innovation
As a Senior Member of Technical Staff, lead engineering deliverables across product teams
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU'LL BRING
BS/BA degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
12+ years of hands on Engineering development
Experienced in Agile, scrum, SAFE delivery experience
Practitioner of Cloud native design principles
Must possess expertise in people leadership, Technological, Organizational and/or Operational Change Management
Must possess In-depth knowledge of at least one technology discipline (e.g., software delivery, infrastructure management)
Experienced in large-scale software development in multiple digital programming languages
