Our Neuromodulation business is an area of expertise for Abbott. This business includes implantable devices compatible with mobile technology to help people who suffer from chronic pain and movement disorders. Our Solutions include Proclaim (TM) XR SCS System, the #1 Spinal cord stimulator on the market, Proclaim (TM) DRG Neurostimulator, the only FDA approved DRG therapy and a market leader in radiofrequency ablation therapy, Abbott RFA. Our location in Plano, TX currently has an opportunity for a MANAGER, STRATEGIC SOURCING. The Manager is responsible for the purchasing and supply management activities for all categories and sub categories. They will work closely with key stakeholders in both Corporate and Division organizations to develop effective cost reduction strategies and implementation plans. They will nurture stakeholder relationships by serving as a business partner, helping identify critical business requirements and providing sourcing and procurement services that meet expectations. The manager will drive reduced total cost of ownership by optimizing tier 2 and tier 3 supply chains and leverage extensive market and supplier knowledge. They will proactively identify areas of opportunity for new business opportunities, process improvement, and cost efficiencies. They will provide insight to the business unit on how to best develop and leverage supplier capabilities for the organization(s).
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Develop business unit sourcing strategy and translate strategy to programs and projects.
Influence and partner with business leaders (Sr. Manager, Director, DVP) to manage and evolve strategy based on market dynamics.
Drive Total Cost of Ownership reductions through analytics. Clearly define supplier taxonomy and manage accordingly.
Coordinate across functions and business units to share best practices and adherence to corporate guidelines.
Advise business unit(s) about similar strategies employed by other healthcare companies. Lead initiatives that span virtual teams across the world and cross cultures.
Closely collaborate with adjacent business departments to ensure adequate and timely delivery of agreed services, in line with agreed service levels.
Ensure contract terms are aligned with our business requirements.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers. Manage ongoing Supplier relationships.
Foster a collaborative environment among stakeholders. Build and maintain strong relationships across various functions.
Ensure optimal balance between value for money and cost savings is achieved, while ensuring quality and excellent customer service.
Monitor market dynamics for category across regions. Continually look for opportunities for cost reductions and cost avoidance.
Responsible for people leadership. Recruit, mentor, train and develop talent. Responsible for overall morale of team and promotes cohesive attitude.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
3-5 years of deep Category/Commodity Management experience.
3-5 years of Contract experience
Good organizational skills, including program/project management governance.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Strong interdisciplinary, intercultural, influence, and networking skills.
Experience with Supplier management. Ability to develop actionable implementation plans.
Relevant business process knowledge, as related to Procurement and Category Management. Extensive knowledge of category technologies and products.
Strong influence and negotiating skills.
Experience leading teams - both with direct staff and indirect project teams.
Medical Devices Industry Experience
Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or similar certification desirable
Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification desirable
