As our Heart Failure business continues to grow, we are looking to recruit for the brand new position of Heart Failure Market Development Manager.
This role has responsibility for activities within the Heart Failure division focused on the development of the UK LVAD business, CardioMEMS and short term MCS/ECMO, as well as developing and delivering coordinated internal and external messaging regarding Abbott Medical's value proposition in the Heart Failure therapy area, which will require cross divisional collaboration. Highly collaborative, this role provides technical, clinical, educational and sales support to ensure safe adoption and growth of the technology within the Heart Failure business.
Key responsibilities include:
Therapy and Market Development: supporting and developing strategic implanting centers and educating referring physicians on indications for LVADs, Short Term support, and CardioMEMS
Educational Support: developing Heart Failure education programme for UK&I markets in collaboration with UKI HF team.
Coordinate/deliver/implement programs and resources at the local level to facilitate market expansion.
Working alongside European colleagues, sharing best practice, and contributing to the development of strategy and marketing initiatives across the Heart Failure business.
Working directly with patients, providing clinical expertise for the Heart Failure portfolio, and providing technical support in accordance with the instructions for use/trial protocol, and best-practices to facilitate procedural consistency and best clinical outcomes.
Provide support for site performance and to facilitate safe growth. Assist in education and training activities with physicians, support staff and Abbott Medical personnel. Stay abreast of and communicate clinical data regarding Heart Failure division products.
Cross divisional collaboration to help maximize revenue and opportunities across the portfolio.
Provide market intelligence for fine-tuning of therapy training and expansion plans. Build and maintain relationship with referral sources to grow and establish a healthy base of business.
Educate physicians, nurses, educators, and other referral sources on the indications and selection of patients that are candidates for Abbott Heart Failure therapy, as well as overseeing local education and training activities.
Develop and maintain comprehensive clinical and technical product knowledge. Recognize and understand competitive products and industry trends. Liaison with marketing for technology improvements and next generation needs.
What you'll need:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field is ideal, but will consider relevant work experience in lieu.
Prior field sales experience is required, with clinical experience in a sales environment preferred.
Thorough familiarity with medical device industry policies, operations and procedures.
A comprehensive ability to analyze and evaluate technologically complex devices.
Ability to collaborate, work with others effectively.
Track record of delivering strategic marketing information.
Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
This position requires a considerable amount of business travel (c. 50%, largely UK & Ireland)
Professional training/education certification or designation preferred.
