Our location in Kansas City currently has an opportunity for an Application Support Supervisor within our Toxicology business unit. This role oversees timely delivery of quality technical support to internal and external customers. Manages a staff of 5+ persons and develops policies and procedures governing how to troubleshoot IT issues, including identification, documentation, distribution and resolution. May evaluate new products and services and suggest enhancements to the business. Relies on extensive knowledge and professional discretion to achieve goals. Investigates and resolves software and hardware problems of clients and computer users. Significant ingenuity and flexibility is expected.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Manages department and overall expectations pertaining to setting accurate schedules, costs and resources
Directly supervises the Application Support team(s) including the preparation and delivery of staff performance evaluations and career development activities
Work with and adhere to Alere eScreen policies and documentation standards, including Change Control documentation.
Work closely with IT staff to assist in the communication, training, and documentation of technology solutions.
Act as a trusted advisor to the business to assist with compliance activities, new product roll-out, and other activities related to support and IT.
Ensure the Support team has knowledge, training, and systems in place to support customers and manage remote devices.
Responsible for the security of all clinic devices and client hardware and solutions to manage remote devices.
Support includes full life cycle support of all IT equipment, distribution, and disposal.
Assist software and hardware evaluation and recommendations for management review.
Write and maintain documentation related to corporate policies, procedures, and compliance.
Be well educated in relation to Quality Management Systems (FDA), SOX, HIPPA, PHI and PII requirements.
Responsible for several areas of the Quality Management System as it relates to customer complaint handling.
Mentor the Application Support Team(s) to build a culture of learning and continuous improvement including technical and interpersonal skills for the team
Responsible for communications and management of incident and problem management.
Enterprise responsibility across all technology towers
Responsible for Managing the Application Support Department
Seasoned professional contributor with responsibility for an advanced area of work in the professional field
May be responsible for entire projects or functions having modest scope/impact or portions of projects having considerable scope/impact to department, area, and, at times, SBU results
Responsible for defining and measuring metrics within the Application Support department to ensure company strategic goals are met and the continual maturity of those metrics
Responsible for participating in the strategic direction of the company and being an active participant in these areas as called upon.
May oversee the completion of projects or assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc.
Contributes to employees' professional development and managing the process of hiring and terminating employees
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
High school diploma or GED
Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Work, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, etc. required
Working Knowledge in writing SQL and configuring/administering database servers like SQL Server required
Knowledge of security features for COTS and patching processes required
Knowledge of LanDesk required
Knowledge of AirWatch required
Associates in Computer Science or a related field or at least 3 years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to set and meet tight deadlines and function well under pressure
Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with all departments within the Information Technology department, as well as the business partners
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, as well as organization and document skills
Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment
Strong problem solving skills
