The APOC Procurement team has an opportunity at our Princeton, NJ site. The Senior Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for leading and executing the strategic sourcing activities for the Electronic components category and sub categories. Work closely with key stakeholders in both Division and Corporate organizations to develop effective cost reduction, supply continuity and risk mitigation strategies and implementation plans. Nurture stakeholder relationships by serving as a business partner, helping identify critical business requirements and providing sourcing and procurement services that meet expectations.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Develop sourcing, supply continuity and risk mitigation strategies and implementation plan for the Electronic components category and sub categories.
Supplier relationship management: Select and evaluate new suppliers and vendors. Build and maintain supplier commercial relationships. Monitor supplier quality and service levels when escalated.
Lead / support major contract negotiation with suppliers, develop a glide path with key suppliers to continuous cost reduction and execute the plan.
Drive total cost of ownership reduction by optimizing Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 supply chains.
Drive proactive procurement involvement in the Innovation planning processes with R&D, Commercial, Engineering/manufacturing to ensure that the complete development of APOC strategies for both the near and long term.
This position will work with Abbott legal counsels to ensure contract integrity and minimize APOC business/legal/financial risks.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or related fields.
5+ years of Procurement, Sourcing or Engineering/Manufacturing experience.
Ability of working in a fast-paced matrix organization.
Autonomy and must be able to operate with limited supervision
Highly motivated, result driven, financially competent
Experience with global suppliers and global sourcing strategies
Experience sourcing or managing Electronic components is a plus.
Very good communication and presentation skills
