APOC location in Princeton, NJ, currently has an opportunity for a Data and Reporting IT Manager
The Data and Reporting IT Manager role is the primary liaison between IT and all business functions for all data, reporting and Analytics needs. The technology and system platforms in the data and reporting landscape include, but are not limited to:
- SQL Server
- Power BI
- Cognos
- Data warehouse Operations
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Manage the relationship with business clients by applying IT and business knowledge / experience to build business cases and identify requirements needed to implement process and technology solutions to resolve business problems.
- Lead department level initiatives and collaborate on larger projects which have Cross-Divisional / Corporate impact primarily in reporting and analytics area.
- Architect, Design and Develop all data integrations, reporting and analytics solutions on time and on budget
- Support Data Operations, adhoc requests and existing dashboards and drive automation
- Utilizes influencing skills to build and enhance relationships with the Divisional business community, and actively partners with the business to develop long-term strategic plans, as well as manage portfolio and tactical projects aimed at improving business effectiveness.
- Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
- Constant awareness of evolving regulatory requirements and technology developments for the specific business process and influence the IT stakeholders and vendors in addressing these evolutions in the most efficient way.
- Understands the specific business processes in scope of the area of business and technology expertise, and make sure that IT solutions meet the needs of the processes.
- Evaluate future capability needs and work with business explore and implement new technology solutions
- Consulting toward business process owners on tools and solutions based on own area of IT expertise.
- Project delivery involves working closely with other disciplines including Corporate IT (BTS) Plan/Build, and Infrastructure Engineering (for implementation), and the RUN organization (for support), as well as with Division business process owners to ensure that the solution meets business objectives.
- Perform or aid in the analysis, requirements specification, design, and implementation of systems and programs for the area of expertise.
- Influence and partner with business leaders (Manager, Director) to manage and align the process specific IT portfolio.
- Closely collaborate with other parts of BU IT, Global Information Services, adjacent business departments and external partners to ensure adequate and timely delivery of agreed services, in line with agreed service levels.
- Partner and collaborate with key IT staff of other Abbott divisions in order to support cross divisional business initiatives, and explore IT synergies and efficiencies.
- Agrees with business process management, and Functional BRM on the projects and applications, and provides correct information for the business unit long range plan and budget.
- Oversee and control project capital/RCE expenditures and ROI.
- Continually look for opportunities for cost reductions and cost avoidance.
- Manage IT projects in own area of expertise, but up to division wide if needed, or participate in business projects based on IT expertise.
- Lead project teams responsible for selection of technology strategy for specific business unit.
- Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures.
- Responsible for assessing the compliance of system solutions with regulatory requirements, inclusive of validation.
- Operates with goals set by the Functional BRM.
- Erroneous decisions would normally result in failure to complete projects critical to major objectives of the business unit.
- Accountable for the accuracy of the fit of the proposed business process improvements and the technical solution to the business needs and the information upon which the business justification and prioritization decisions are made.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
Required
- Bachelor Degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum of 10 years in Life Sciences, with focus on business operations, strategic development, program management, or business systems analysis
- Extensive experience in project management, interdisciplinary, intercultural, influence, and networking skills.
Preferred
- 3 years managing relationships with 3rd party providers, business sponsors, or end-users
