If you have a passion for social media and creating captivating, knock-your-socks off creative, then the role of Senior Manager, Social Media, is for you. This role is part of Abbott's Content team and is responsible for managing communications and campaigns that articulate the Company's brand and reputation in a wide variety of social media channels. As a leader on the team, you will be responsible for driving a short and long-term social media strategy, day-to-day management of editorial content, community development, monitoring of conversations, and tracking of metrics/data - in real time, across multiple channels. You will also work on a team that creates content for digital channels, finding the best way to communicate our stories to our community.
The right candidate will have real experience in the hands-on execution of content and conversational communications in the social media space for leading product brands and/or corporate brands. The person will have the ability to communicate from the Company's brand perspective and voice, curate available content and create stand-out content from start to finish that connects our community and our communication efforts. This position requires an expertise in digital and social media - and excellent verbal and written communications skills with prior experience in public relations, marketing communications, and/or social media management.
Core responsibilities include:
- Manage and execute corporate brand presence and reputation on the Company's owned social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, etc.) with compelling and relevant content.
- Work cross-functionally to develop social content for Abbott's priority campaigns, stories and communications efforts.
- Identify influencers and develop a rapport with them that supports the Company's brand aspirations and communications/reputation goals.
- Translate trends into storytelling opportunities across digital and social channels.
- Interface with various business and corporate constituencies, including corporate marketing, media relations, regulatory, and product/brand managers.
- Liaise with creative agencies on content development.
- Develop and execute our sponsorships campaign strategy and tactical plans.
- Track metrics, monitor online competitor presence, report "chatter," and communicate platform activity with internal team members.
- Support Senior Director in the development of long-range, multi-platform social media content strategies, editorial calendars and tactical plans.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, advertising, and related-fields and 7 to 10 years of experience
- In-depth knowledge of social media and digital marketing
- Passion for emerging social platforms and digital trends
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills and copywriting experience
- Prefer Sprinklr or similar social media management tool familiarity
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with both organic and paid social media content on key platforms
- Strong time management, organizational skills and attention to detail
