Our location in Lake County IL, currently has an opportunity for a Data Science Product Manager.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
PRIMARY FUNCTION
- Responsible for understanding customer needs, identifying Use Cases, be accountable for business benefit realization for ANSC as part of digital transformation and digital excellence journey.
ACCOUNTABILITY/SCOPE
- Makes decisions that affect project outcomes, thereby having direct impact on project milestones and/or product launches and ultimate division sales and/or margins.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works collaboratively with Manufacturing, Engineering, and other functions within ANSC to identify the need and opportunity for digital enhancements and digital transformation.
- Works with stakeholders within ANSC and support functions to understand business needs, create business requirements and product nuances, identify the best use cases for ML/AI, and develop criteria to validate business benefits.
- Showcase product and solution concepts via presentations, demos, user evangelization and effective documentation
- Lead discovery sessions with business users to understand the client's business objectives and system/application needs
- With an excellent understanding of product features and related technologies, design the solution that best meets the client's requirements
- Proactively create documentary artifacts like business cases, usage scenarios, solution blueprints, FAQs, meeting notes... etc.
- Lead or work with other customer success teams to ensure successful completion of project milestones for production and the initial rollout phase of the project
- Communicate progress and expectations, escalate problems for awareness and resolution
- Lead client training sessions
- Support clients and play a key role in promoting solution adoption and usage
- Work with Data Engineers and Data Scientists to translate business requirements to technical requirements, test cases, traceability matrix to figure out data science solutions with good quality solution delivery.
- Accountable for new product launch on time, oversee product development execution iterations, communicate, and manage stakeholder expectations.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Deep understanding Manufacturing & Supply Chain processes and Business Process domain knowledge desired.
- Robust knowledge of product management principles. Experience of product design and owning product roadmap.
- Researching data science industry trends for Supply Chain, identifying opportunities where Advanced Analytics, ML/AI can solve specific needs; developing a compelling product vision, setting the product roadmap that clearly outlines the future releases and long-term product strategy, managing and articulate a product backlog of ideas.
- Complete understanding of data science principles. Skills in various programming and database languages. Understanding of machine learning, deep learning, artificial intelligence, and other concepts. Understanding of quantitative concepts like statistical models and more. Knowledge of big data concepts, cloud computing domain and technology.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Able to convey complex or technical information simply and clearly both verbally and in writing to diverse groups of people.
- Project management experience, including successful oversight of large, complex projects or programs; Thorough understanding of project management and software engineering methodologies. Project Management Certification is desirable.
- Capable of developing solutions to complex problems.
- Strong negotiation, facilitation and influencing skills; ability to create and participate in an open environment where conflicts regarding priorities and funding decision can be aired and resolved objectively.
- Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to interface with management at all levels.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU'LL BRING
Bachelor's Degree, with at least 7+ years of experience in product management or data science and project management discipline.
