Abbott is looking for a Field Clinical Specialist. The Structural Heart Field Clinical Specialist (TMVR) functions as a technology and procedure expert and resource in the clinical application of transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR) platforms. Applies advanced field clinical engineering and scientific principles to the evaluation and troubleshooting of technical problems. Provides clinical site management in support of clinical study execution at assigned clinical sites including start-up activities, protocol and product training, patient screening and enrollment, device implant, device troubleshooting, patient follow-up, regulatory compliance, complaint reporting and data management.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Function as a Procedural Case Support Specialist for Transcatheter Mitral Valve Replacement (TMVR) procedures, providing expert guidance and instruction to achieve optimal clinical outcomes.
Provide clinical and technical training and education for Cardiothoracic Surgeons, Interventional Cardiologists, Cardiac Cath Lab and Cardiac Surgery staff, and other ancillary personnel on the use of Structural Heart products.
Provide clinical site management at assigned sites with concentrated oversight of start-up activities, patient screening and enrollment, treatment, and patient follow-up.
Proactively and critically examine ways to enhance overall clinical trial performance regionally and nationally.
80% Field Travel in the US with some International Travel
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
BS/BA or equivalent experience required. Degree in Biological Sciences, Nursing, Cardiovascular Perfusion, or Biomedical Engineering preferred.
8+ years of related clinical and/or medical industry work experience with in-depth knowledge of structural heart, cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, and/or critical care medicine. Strong working knowledge in heart valve replacement and repair, transcatheter structural heart technologies, echocardiography, cardiovascular hemodynamics, and heart failure medicine.
Procedural support experience in structural heart, interventional cardiology, and/or cardiac surgery procedures.
Experience in clinical research studies and study site management, collaborating with cross-functional clinical research partners, physicians, and other healthcare providers
Demonstrated problem-solving abilities in managing clinical sites and demonstrated skill and tactfulness in dealing with physicians and research coordinators.
Experience utilizing Image Viewing and Processing Software for CT and/or Echo Analysis
