PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Implement policies, procedures, practices, and strategy for achieving comprehensive Training programs in SI & Cardiac Surgery for both internal employees and external customers. Establish clinical proficiency goals that will facilitate positive clinical outcomes.
The role will focus primarily on clinical field training and mentoring in the field of SI. This position will be additionally responsible for implementing and monitoring education programs for different HCP stakeholders as well as training new hires until they have completed all required training.
In addition, the position will be responsible for supporting the company's efforts to formulate and implement all training and development strategies.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be the Training & Education Lead for SI & Cardiac Surgery for the APAC region. The roles and responsibilities will be focused on being strategic, execution of training and operational excellence as detailed below.
Prepare and Execute Training Tactics - Ensure all materials and activities are aligned and executed in accordance with the larger, strategic plan.
Training Program Development & Management
Assist training for current and future generations of Structural Heart portfolios, mainly focused but not solely in the domain of SI & CS.
These projects will require extensive collaboration with, EMEA / Global Training managers. Multi-stakeholder collaboration will be required as well as collaboration with KOL stakeholders.
Execution training program development which include strategic learning goals, content development, key stakeholder involvement, logistics, compliance / documentation, and budget awareness.
Prepare communication for input and alignment.
Prepare efficient cross-functional meetings that result in clear plans of action.
Develop and Cultivates long-term, collaborative relationships with Key Opinion Leaders.
Future Program Development
Additional responsibilities of new therapy areas/new target audiences, patient pathways and identified needs of HCPs and internal stakeholders -may require development of new training curricula and sign off processes.
These projects will require extensive multi stakeholder collaboration with, EMEA / Global Training managers, marketing teams and KOLs.
Therapy, Market and Commercial Environment knowledge
Has in depth knowledge, understanding and experience of commercial environment and operations.
Responsibilities of new therapy areas/new target audiences, patient pathways and identify needs of HCPs and internal stakeholders.
Builds strategic alliances within the commercial leadership and key stakeholders
Creates aligned training plans to meet the geographic commercial sales goals thru training plan implementation of field and customers.
Identify opportunities and implement programs to streamline field-based patient screening and procedure scheduling.
Facilitate new account start up training and re-training where needed.
PRODUCT & PROCEDURE TRAINING:
Will be required to lead training for current and future generations of Structural Heart portfolios, mainly focused but not solely in the domain of SI.
Procedural expertise for both internal and external audiences is required
Develop supplemental training content for the region that meets quality standards (product specifications, IFU, routing).
Stay updated on new Mandatory content developed by the Global/EMEA teams and ensure their incorporation in region-led trainings.
Incorporate subject matter input for alignment on content and flow. Examples include Global training counterparts, R&D, regulatory, physician KOLs, etc.
Develop content to deadlines.
Executes on curriculum/ training plan development within the APAC regional environment.
Training Resource Management:
Incorporate available training resources (field trainers, heart models, simulators, MD faculty) into training curriculum to maximize learning and minimize training timelines.
Keep track of Simulators within APAC region and work with global teams on procuring new Simulators/models and other resources needed for 'hands-on training.
Have in-depth knowledge on the technology used for Remote Proctorship (Proximie or alternative), the guard-rails for utilization for internal FCS certification as well as physician training (certification or new product launch).
Training Program Evaluation
To perform regular checks of all compliance related activities related to training.
Create feedback forms for all trainings conducted, analyze & document the feedback data to measure effectiveness of the Training programs and identify areas of improvement for subsequent programs.
Assists in preparing updates and reports for senior management.
Ensures standard measures are in place to assess results and impact of initiatives.
Proactively assess the work of Technical support and sales teams on periodic (e.g. quarterly) basis to ensure compliance in line with standard operating procedures and report on monthly base.
Ensure compliance of materials, and consistent dissemination of the subject matter to both internal and external stakeholders.
The Sr Trainer will assume full responsibility for systematic tracking of training program performance including but not limited to: time to account start up, number of accounts starting/not-starting, time to certification of internal employees and HCP.
Tracking of both internal and external stakeholder certifications and trainings to be done using Abbott Mentor.
Quality Systems and Regulatory Compliance
Understands Quality, Regulatory and compliance processes and acts towards in training program and content development.
Prepares and ensures all appropriate documentation is in place accordingly.
Provide support in the development of Training SOP's and measurement.
Responsibilities for all functions:
In case the employee is being made aware of an event or complaint in relation to a product distributed by Abbott, he/she shall report this in compliance with the SOP 50558 on Field Event Reporting.
When tasks and responsibilities are assigned outside the scope of normal duties, the employee must understand the level of decision making for which he/she is responsible and if in doubt clarify this with his/her supervisor.
EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES
Bachelor's Degree required.
Minimum of three years related experience in the medical device industry preferably consisting of three or more years of direct sales experience.
Highly developed presentation and communication skills.
Thorough working knowledge of the medical device industry is required.
Ability to travel extensively. Clinical expertise in areas of Structural Heart disease & Cardiac Surgery preferred.

Ability to interface with customers and key opinion leaders.

Knowledge of Medical Device industry is a plus.
