Our location in Columbus, OH currently has an opportunity for Senior Procurement Specialist, Packaging. The Senior Specialist is responsible for the purchasing and supply management activities for the Primary and Secondary Packaging components which may include the following: Compression and Injection Molding. Provide superior levels of customer service and satisfaction while adhering to a strict standard of business ethics and integrity. The Senior Procurement Specialist has delegated authority to commit company funds. Work closely with key stakeholders (Manufacturing, Packaging Engineering, Research and Development, Quality, Product Stewardship Group, Regulatory, Legal, Planning, Project Management, and Commercial) in both Corporate and Division organizations to ensure the continuity of supply and develop effective cost reduction strategies and implementation plans. Nurture stakeholder relationships by serving as a business partner, helping identify critical business requirements and providing sourcing and procurement services that meet expectations.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Responsible for purchasing the Primary and Secondary Packaging components, supporting multiple plants of the business unit.
Activities include sourcing, evaluating, and selecting suppliers, negotiating supply agreements, and monitoring the quality and timeliness of materials.
Manage supply risks and ensure supply continuity.
Creates analytical tools for tracking of supply and pricing data.
Drive value and lead savings outcomes.
Recommend process improvements to streamline for efficiencies.
Manage cost models and pricing updates.
Manage contracts - up to $1,000,000.
Support Operations issues and invoice error resolution.
Collaborate with other functional areas in Division and Plant roles (Manufacturing, Packaging Engineering, Research and Development, Quality, Product Stewardship Group, Regulatory, Legal, Planning, Project Management, and Commercial)
Manage highly complex and specialized projects.
Analyze complex problems and delivers solutions.
Develop sourcing plan and execute against larger category strategies and work in the guidance of Category Leads/Managers.
Able to adapt precedent and make significant departures from traditional approaches to develop solutions.
Drive and grow strong effective business relationships with suppliers, stakeholders, and customers.
Meet regularly with corporate and divisional customers and lead functions to ensure superior customer satisfaction and continuous improvement for efficiencies.
Deals with people issues in a constructive and timely manner, demonstrating strong conflict management skills.
Responsible for leading and mentoring Specialist procurement personnel. Provides guidance and training as necessary.
Responsible to drive compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures.
Execute against the goals set by the Category Leads /Managers/Directors.
Drive innovative ways to maintain and improve procurement processes, cycle times, total acquisition costs, and customer service levels.
Financial implications of the Spend up to $100MM.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING:
Bachelor's degree: Engineering, Science, Business, or Financial Degrees.
4+ years of Procurement and/or deep Category Management experience. Some functional experience.
Relevant business process knowledge, as related to Procurement and Category Management.
Good understanding of capacity and demand planning principles.
Excellent analytical skills and ability to utilize advanced MS Excel skills or other tools for reporting and trending.
Excellent program/project management skills.
Ability to develop actionable implementations plans.
Able to deal with ambiguity and adapt to change.
Experience with supplier management.
Excellent negotiation skills.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Excellent interdisciplinary, intercultural, influence and networking skills.
Deep knowledge of Packaging and related raw materials technologies and products.
