Applies experience and procurement knowledge to execute the purchasing and supply management strategies created by the Category Managers. Work with suppliers, customers (internal and external), and the Divisions to solve issues and drive high levels of customer service. This role will work across multiple verticals. The position will be responsible for Operations and Tactical work with the various categories. The Specialist has delegated authority to commit company funds while contributing cost savings and partnerships with suppliers and internal customers.
Proactively seek innovative ways to improve procurement processes, cycle times, and customer service levels.
Full understanding of the "One Procurement" strategies. Strong knowledge and project work across multiple categories that impact the team positively.
Works within defined processes and procedures and may help determine appropriate approaches for change.
Core Job Responsibilities:
First line responder; pivots between strategy, operations and transactional sourcing.
Execute against category strategies and work in the guidance of strategic category leaders.
Lead category spend data reporting cadence
Manage SOWs/RFI's/Ordering documents. Create and implement RFPs. Assist with supplier selection.
Execute ad-hoc/one off buys.
Manage day to day supply issues. Analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures. Communicates pertinent information to both internal customers and suppliers to keep apprised and to prevent problems.
Support PO conversion - non transactional and some negotiations.
Manage PO approvals - up to $750,000.
Educate on existing solutions and enable performance and tech tools development.
Lead resolution on escalated issues and invoice errors.
PO change management and communicate trends of changes.
Enable supplier integration and KPI's.
Drive savings outcomes.
Perform routine professional-based activities. Contribute to and manage some projects.
Implement agreed purchasing strategies for category
Seek and support business relationships with diverse suppliers
Meet regularly with divisional customers and support functions to ensure good customer satisfaction and continuous improvement
Seek, develop, and maintain business relationships with suppliers, clients and customers.
Executes against the goals set by the Category Leads/Managers.
Seek innovative ways to maintain and improve procurement processes, cycle times, total acquisition costs, and customer service levels.
Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures.
Bachelor's Degree: Engineering, Science, Business, or Financial Degrees.
CPM certification desired
2-4 years of Logistics and/or Procurement experience.
Strong people skills as well as good communication skills (written and verbal); multi-lingual a plus.
Good interdisciplinary, intercultural, influence, and networking skills.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Advanced experience with entire MS-Office suite; particularly Excel.
Proficiency with multiple analytical tools such as Alteryx, SQL, and Power BI highly desirable.
Experience with enhanced analytics, large data, and the creation of dashboards and advanced reporting is a plus.
This is a developmental position within Global Logistics Procurement. The successful candidate will grow knowledge of the entire Logistics industry and develop foundational skills that position him or her to move into a role of increased responsibility in either Procurement or Division Logistics in 2-3 years.
