Position Summary:
The Center for Embedded & Cyber-Physical Systems (CECS) is a premier interdisciplinary research unit focusing on research and educational aspects related to embedded & cyber-physical systems. With applications ranging from green technology to information appliances, network and wireless communication, robotics, medical devices, smart homes for the elderly and disabled, automotive, rail and aviation technology sectors -they are changing the way we live.
Under general supervision, applies professional concepts to conduct analytical studies or projects of moderate scope and complexity to address a variety of policy, research and procedural issues related to MECPS graduate program and CECS Contracts & Grants Administration. Fully analyzes issues and problems, gathers data and information, finds and evaluates alternatives and makes sound recommendations.
Compensation Range:
$49,000 - $60,250

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training in an academic environment.
Working knowledge of proposal administrative procedures, admission and enrollment process, common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs. Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Proficient in ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality. Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns. Demonstrates ability to analyze, research and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail. Proficient in ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes. Working knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques.
Preferred:
Experience with UC organizational structures and teaching, research and public service missions. Experience with Grad Slate, UCPath, UCI Kuali Research and Financial Systems Knowledge of applicable federal, state, local, sponsor and institutional regulations, policies and guidelines.
