Clinical Laboratory Technologist - $15,000 Sign-On Bonus
United Health Services in Upstate New York is hiring full-time Clinical Laboratory Technologists to support our lab services and phlebotomy teams at Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, New York, and Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich, New York.

Clinical Laboratory Technologist Position Overview
In the laboratory, under limited supervision, the Clinical Laboratory Technologist performs routine and specialized tests, monitors lab processes, and verifies test results. Lab Technologists are expected to uphold all policies and procedures set forth by United Health Services, the NYS Department of Health, and the CDC. Servicing thousands of patients per year, our high-volume laboratories are accredited by the NYS DOH and the College of American Pathologists.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform clinical analyses for routine, special, and automated tests
- Observe reactions and make qualitative or quantitative analyses; recognize abnormal values and take proper action
- Perform required preventative maintenance procedures in laboratory instrumentation; investigate and resolve technical problems and identify real or potential situations for equipment failure
- Verify and post results in laboratory systems or on appropriate reports; work with software to enter, verify, and retrieve results
- Obtain laboratory specimens (blood, urine, and other body fluids) directly from patients as trained and select appropriate equipment for age of patient and type of testing ordered
- Recognize and act upon your individual need for continuing education as a function of growth; maintain professional competence and licensure
- Participate in the practical and clinical training of lab technicians and other laboratory students and new employees as assigned
- If you have six or more years of experience, act in a supervisory capacity in the absence of your supervisor by carrying out instructions and handling of daily procedures/issues

Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher for Clinical Laboratory Technology or a related title from a program registered by the NYS department of licensure or a program determined to be the substantial equivalent of a registered program (refer to the NYS Office of the Professions for academic requirements for licensure)
- New York State Clinical Laboratory Technology license or eligibility
- Preferred: One year of experience working in a clinical laboratory and/or certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification
