The MA Care Coordinator works under the direction of a licensed health care professional and performs various clinical and administrative tasks for a designated department or clinic at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. This position is mainly administrative, but requires a clinical knowledge base to help facilitate patient care, overcoming barriers to care, helping to improve the overall quality of care and enhancing the patient experience.
1.Graduate of a Medical Assistant program accredited by one of the following: CAAHEP, ABHES, or other school approved by the Department of Education. MA certification from American Association of Medical Assistants or American Medical Technologists in lieu of graduation from an accredited course. (Required)
One year of experience in a healthcare or pediatric setting. (Preferred)
Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association. (Required)
Certified Medical Assistant from American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) or American Medical Technologists, (RMA); employees in the Care Coordinator role prior to 9/1/19 must obtain within one year (9/1/2020) (Required)
