Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the incumbent performs independent and innovative research projects involving animal surgical models for medical device development and evaluation. The incumbent is responsible for the design and implementation of experiments, investigates and develops new methodologies, resolves scientific problems, conducts data analysis and prepares results for publication. The incumbent is responsible for daily laboratory operation, ensures that laboratory supply inventory is maintained, supervises and trains students, post-doctoral scholars, fellows, and other staff members on lab techniques and safety courses. The incumbent may create protocol and ensures study protocols are followed, and appropriate documentation is kept for lab safety and IRB, IBC, IACUC regulation compliance. Serving as the Co-investigator, the incumbent is responsible for IACUC protocol application, modification and renewal with input from the supervisor and senior surgical staff.

$29.69 - $47.75 (Hourly Rate)
Required:
5 years of experience in animal surgical models of tissue regeneration or animal husbandry Generation and organization of laboratory research data. Ability to define problems, identify relevant factors, develop innovative techniques to solve research problems, compile data and make recommendations. Experience managing multiple research projects Computer skills include Word, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Excel, EndNote and GraphPad Prism. Experienced at effectively training personnel working in research lab, from high school students to post-docs and staff members, in methods utilized in laboratory environment and safety courses. Demonstrated organizational and record keeping skills with meticulous attention to detail. Skill for performing general lab maintenance.

Strong background in regenerative medicine Flexible working hours/schedule Knowledge of university purchasing procedures
