Job Summary:
The Kurt J. Lesker Company Process Equipment Division is seeking a Fabricator & Welder who is hungry for knowledge and loves science. In this position, you will be working alongside our industry’s finest engineers and scientists every day by setting up and welding components for such as chamber base, side and top plates, prototypes and small chamber assemblies. Not only, will this position allow you to expand your knowledge and work with metalworking masters but also diversify you into the world of vacuum science and its unique components. Responsibilities:
Perform all the required layout, cut, fit, tack, and welding using the GTAW/TIG primarily fusion on stainless steel parts
Be familiar with a variety of welding concepts, practices and inspection procedures
Interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
Verify conformance of finished work pieces to specification, using precision measuring instruments
Competently layout and fabricate sheet metal using brake, shear, punch, and CNC plasma
Regularly perform cleaning and helium leak detection
Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements
Basic inspection and assembly of vacuum related components
High level of proactivity and ability to work independently
Qualifications:
Required
3 or more years working experience performing TIG welding on stainless steel parts
1 or more years working experience in sheet metal fabrication
Thorough understanding of welding symbols
Good verbal and written communication skills
Bend, brake and sheering fabrication sheet metal experience
Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist and lift up to and including 60 lbs. unassisted. Assistance must be used for any items over this weight. Assistance is always required for anything weighing over 60 lbs.
Preferred
1 or more years operating Haas CNC milling and turning centers
Skilled Trade certification or Journeyman papers.
Proficient with manual mill and tool room lathe operations.
Working knowledge of inspection processes and final detailing of materials related to vacuum technology.
