What Quality Engineering contributes to Cardinal Health
Quality Engineering is responsible for product and service quality planning, evaluation and control. Works cross-functionally in the development and implementation of prevention-based methodologies used in design, manufacturer, test, sustainability and correction of products and services.
Demonstrates understanding of quality philosophies, principles, systems, methods, tools, and standards.
Demonstrates understanding of the complaint handling process including investigation, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and effectiveness verification.
Develops and implements quality programs, including tracking, analyzing, reporting and problem solving.
Plans, controls, and assures product and process quality in accordance with quality principles, which include planning processes, design control, material control, acceptance sampling and measurement systems.
Demonstrates knowledge of reliability, maintainability, and risk management, including key terms and definitions, modeling, systems design, assessment tools and reporting.
Applies problem solving and quality improvement tools and techniques, including, preventative and corrective actions and how to overcome barriers to quality improvements.
Acquires and analyzes data using appropriate standard quantitative methods to facilitate process analysis and improvements.
Demonstrates a strong attention to detail and the ability to work on a cross-functional team.
Compose Supplier Change Requests (SCRs) for product changes, outlining the requirements for the supplier for implementation
Work with suppliers to coordinate the timeline for deliverables, and review/approve validation protocols
Collaborate with a cross-functional team in regular meetings to provide status updates and escalate issues as needed
Inspect first article samples for completeness and accuracy, and document the results
Route SCRs for approval in Oracle Agile to meet project timelines
Adhere to Good Manufacturing Principles (GMPs) based Quality Management Systems requirements for medical devices and medicinal products
Ensure supplier quality systems adhere to all applicable regulations and standards
Apply experience and knowledge of MDD (Medical Device Directive), EU-MDR (Medical Device Regulations), ISO 13485 (Quality Management Systems), Pharmaceutical guidelines, FDA, cGMP, and Risk Management (ISO 14971) to instill a culture dedicated to ensuring patient safety and sustained regulatory compliance
Bachelors degree in related field preferred, or equivalent work experience
2-4 years of experience preferred
Interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work in a cross-functional team
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Familiar with medical device labeling requirements preferred
Familiar with process validations
Able to work independently
Familiarity with Oracle Agile preferred
