What will you be doing:
The Manager, Clinical Engineering oversees the staff and daily operations of the assigned Clinical Engineering department/team to provide a safe, high-quality, and cost-effective healthcare technology management program that meets and exceeds the customers' needs and regulatory requirements and supports the total equipment life cycle management through the use of sound analytics.
Provides planning, analysis, leadership, and oversight for the entire technology management lifecycle with a special focus on clinical end-user support.
Oversees and manages departmental financial performance, with an emphasis on cost efficient management; proactively escalates budget/resource issues and assists with annual the capital and operational budgeting process.
Develops policies and procedures for support and maintenance responsibilities. Works collaboratively with all team members to assign tasks and evaluate and manage the program?s key quality and performance indicators.
Provides support and manages, where applicable, large hospital wide technology implementations.
Establishes relationships, sets expectations and program service scope, and conducts communications with department management at the various levels across the organization. Provides the same support within the physician leadership, related to end-user support and support level agreements. Ensures overall customer satisfaction.
Ensures optimal technical personnel recruitment, training and development.
Assists the Director in the overall department strategy and how it fits within the Cedars-Sinai System.
Establishes and manages professional relationships with vendors to support overall technology management.
Monitors emerging technologies; reports on healthcare related technology trends; assess new healthcare related technologies; disseminates healthcare related technology information as appropriate.
Maintains a working knowledge of all elements of healthcare technology management.
Supervises the day-to-day work of employees, assigns work, ensures tasks are completed and deadlines are met.
Responsible for hiring, onboarding, managing schedules, personnel actions, performance reviews, and performance improvement plans.
Qualifications
Experience Requirements:
Five (5) plus years? experience in Healthcare Technology Management supporting complex medical device systems and Electronic Medical Records medical device integration.
Experience in managing teams in complex enterprise level support of clinical end-users.
Experience in managing multiple work streams.
Educational/Certification Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Healthcare Technology or relevant field of study.
Master's degree in Healthcare Technology or relevant field of study preferred.
