What you will be doing:
The Senior Clinical Systems Engineer is a highly visible role that collaborates with Clinical Operations, Technology Teams, Application Teams, and vendors to deliver and optimize integrated clinical solutions. Curiosity, diligence, follow-through, and critical thinking are hallmarks of this high functioning team who research, design, develop, and deliver clinical technology solutions that including databases, interfaces, edge device messaging. Ensures HIPAA and other regulatory compliance. Ensures appropriate and safe application of clinical technologies through application of standard engineering techniques and software management procedures. Ensures continuous real-time operation of clinical information systems (24X7) and support. Interfaces with system and support vendors as needed. Provides advice/mentorship to lower-level staff on more sophisticated systems and issues.
Provides SME to Clinical leadership, Operational leadership, IT leadership and other partners to evaluate, analyze and understand workflows, business direction and needs to provide proactive recommendations.
Provides SME consultation for system assessment, design, implementation, and support strategy for clinical technology, IT networks, and integrations within EIS as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Leads the solution design and deployment of clinical technology in existing and new care delivery environments in conjunction with clinical and technology partners.
Monitors clinical technology trends and evaluate emerging technology trends. Report findings and recommend strategy for management of clinical technology and integration of related technology within hospital system.
Ensures efficient performance of the Clinical Software Suite of Applications to minimize outages. Provides 7x24 support for applications on a rotation basis.
Coordinates clinical information system development activities with key EIS Informatics and Technology engineering groups, including:
Coordination with systems integration team to implement, test, and maintain system interfaces.
Coordination with EIS Informatics and Technology groups to analyze business and interface requirements.
Coordination with network engineers and UNIX systems administrators to implement and maintain clinical information system platforms.
Qualifications
Experience Requirements:
Seven (7) plus years? experience developing and managing clinical technology systems.
Four (4) plus years? experience in Dev/Ops role to implement and support complex systems interfaces.
Sophisticated understanding of the medical and physiologic aspects of the data collected and analyzed.
Proven knowledge and experience with Clinical Technology and medical device data systems.
Experience with administration and configuration of various application platforms.
Experienced knowledge of software systems and application architectures such as client-server and n-tier and typical application-system dependences and APIs.
Solid grasp with HL7, TCP/IP, FTP, Secure FTP, SSH, SMTP, HTTP, DNS, WINS, Active Directory, and related network protocols and services.
Strong troubleshooting skills in a multi-platform environment; meticulous with solid attention to detail.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor?s degree in Biomedical, Technology, Clinical Engineering, or related field.
