Position Summary: Contributes to and improves medical laboratory coordination with all patient facing functions of the enterprise. Ensures that all critical tasks are fulfilled on a timely basis.

Critical Tasks:

• Provides technical, scientific, and management guidance to the Point of Care Team in order to meet or exceed accreditation standards.
• Nurtures patient relationships by providing customer service and coordinating treatment services.
• Establishes test system performance characteristics while ensuring that all staff are administering testing accurately.
• Reviews and responds to Quality Control data. Audits and monitors quality reports and incident reports.
• Resolves technical problems and ensures that remedial actions are taken successfully.
• Ensures that all test systems are functioning properly.
• Evaluates lab activities in order to positively impact patient care, staff relations, and quality of service.
• Collaborates with medical staff and management to ensure the Point of Care department functions correctly.
• Trains staff members on lab subjects of expertise.
• Performs other job-related activities as requested.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a closely related field required.
• Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or as an American Medical Technologist (AMT) required.
• 2 years of clinical laboratory experience required.
• Demonstrates ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community and/or other Native American cultures and community health services.
