Our location in Columbus OH, currently has an opportunity for a Contract Manufacturing Specialist in our Third-Party Contract Manufacturing team.
The primary responsibility of the TPM (Third Party Manufacturing) Contract Manufacturing Specialist is to manage BAU (Business as Usual) activities across a portfolio of Domestic TPMs in the Co-Packing and Nutritional TPM categories with annual throughput up to $15MM. The role will be 100% accountable to build and maintain relationships across the TPMs and ANSC (Abbott Nutrition Supply Chain) while delivering margin and profitability improvements across the ANPD (Abbott Nutrition Products Division Pediatric and Adult) and ANI (Abbott Nutrition International Pediatric and Adult) businesses. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Manage multiple Third Party Manufacturers and/or copackers, as well as business critical projects (including creation and maintenance of contracts / supply agreements) to ensure that production requirements are met on time and in full
Manage the systems transactions required to support Third Party Manufacturers including but not limited to Finished Good Purchase Order issuance, Raw Material Purchase Order issuance, batch reconciliation, and inventory receiving
Help support the commodity ordering, monitoring, and tracking for BAU copackers who have a consignment procurement model, using systems such as EDI, Excel, SAP, and more
Learn the business, systems and processes by working closely with Quality Assurance, Engineering, R&D, Purchasing, Regulatory, Legal, Production Planning, and Logistics to ensure continuity in supply on on-market products
Responsible for the successful resolution of all business and supply chain issues with Third Party Manufacturers that affect product quality or availability
Generate and communicate KPI metrics to TPMs and internal management as part of the Global TPM tier review process, TPM of the Year award program, and Monthly Business Review meetings
Work closely with the Portfolio Expansion team to transition new products and new TPMs into business as usual status
Evaluate cost / benefit of various financial scenarios and makes recommendations to senior management. Coordinate internal and external resources to address issues and secure the supply chain
Lead internal and external teams to manage cost and process improvement projects. Identify, share and replicate best practices across the internal and external supply chain network.
This position will frequently interact with the principle business owner or senior management staff at the Third-Party Manufacturer to discuss projects and negotiate issues and resolve problems
This position requires frequent travel to Third Party Manufacturers on short notice as business conditions demand
This position requires working with multiple systems, including but not limited to SAP and AMAPs, to execute on transactions with internally AN (Abbott Nutrition) Plants and TPMs
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU'LL BRING
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field
Ability to travel frequently on short notice as business conditions demand
Project Management Professional (PMP) certified or equivalent
Green Belt / Black Belt certified
Proven history of delivering results and very strong work ethic is the key success factor and expectation for this position
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with ownership and accountability for the entire supply chain
Experience in working with multiple functional areas and possess an understanding of the various operational disciplines (EX: Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics, Purchasing, Production Planning, etc.)
Strong oral and written presentation skills along with the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
Excellent problem solving and logical thinking skills
